Who we are
I'm Will - the guy behind Square State Woodworks.
This journey started not out of some lifelong dream, but from a need to solve problems in my own home. Like a lot of people, I had awkward, unused spaces around my house, and a lot of stuff with no real good place to put things away. Cluttered and disorganized spaces drove me nuts, and I needed practical solutions.
So, I picked up some tools - just the basics - and got to work. No formal plans. Definitely no fancy equipment. And honestly? Those first pieces weren’t anything to write home about . But they did the job, and that feeling—solving a problem with something I built - lit a spark in me.
From there, the hobby turned into a passion. I dove deep: reading books, taking courses, binge-watching tutorials, and - most importantly - making. I started making things for friends and family, always focused on creating pieces that were functional and beautiful.
That drive to fix problems through good design eventually led to Square State Woodworks.
Today, I build custom cabinets, built-ins, furniture, and other wood creations with intention. Every project starts with a conversation about what isn’t working—and ends with a piece that solves that problem while looking damn good doing it.
This isn’t just woodworking. It’s purposeful design. It's craftsmanship with a mission.
